A couple of weeks prior to the Olympic Games in Paris, I was contacted by Thomas de Regt at Wink Agency if I wanted to collaborate on the  Corona Cero merchandise items and crew outfits made especially for this year’s Olympic games.
The pitch deck asked for some iconic, artisanal looking illustrations that both referred to Corona and beach vibes, which would compliment the style of the items. Especially the crew outfits where, in my opinion really stood out, with a loose fit and remarkable stitching.
They also requested two vintage looking illustrations that could be used as postes, postcards and a invitation to one of the Corona Beach events at the Seine river side.

At that point the list of items carrying the illustrations consisted of different types of shirts, blouses, pants and shorts, tracksuits, bucket hats, aprons. But also patches, stickers, little gold coloured and porcelain pendants. Entire room drops with bathrobes, bags, slippers, you name it.

But it didn’t stop there. At the start of the olympics, entirely covered beanbags, beach chairs and pillows where scattered over the Corona Cero Event locations. Hotels had  blankets, Corona Cero room sprays with the illustrations on its label.  They even a complete set of dishes made.

It was also possible for Olympic Games visitors to screen print the illustrations on a t-shirt or tote bag.
It’s a dream come true to be creatively connected to such an iconic event in an even more iconic city. And even though I didn’t get to visit Paris to see it for myself, the pictures luckily captured this golden moment.  (And I got a suitcase full of merchandise)
